WHAT IS INVOLVED IN A Medical Grade Skin and Nail Care CONSULT?

A Medical Grade Skin and nail care appointment (also referred to as a "medi pedi") involves assessment and treatment of the skin and nails of the lower limb using medical grade equipment. The conditions treated may include but are not limited to:

  • Corn and callus removal and treatment.

  • Nail pathology treatment: Fungal, ingrown, trauma nails.

  • Ingrown nail treatment

  • Skin care treatment and management: Fungal and bacterial skin infections, heel fissures and cracks, warts, autoimmune skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema etc.

  • Application of cream.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE A Medi PEDI?

Depending on your needs and requirements, your podiatrist will recommend a suitable time frame interval for your general skin and nail care appointment. In cases where there is build up of callus and/or ingrowns that may require frequent visits, between 4-8 weekly visits may be recommended. If there is moderate concerns that requires a few visits a year, 8-12 week interval for treatment may be recommended for routine skin and nail care appointments.

Be advised, this is different from person to person depending on your presenting complaint and the treatment plan required.
